Attended remote support

Get help with your computer—on your terms.

NorthWave Assist lets you choose exactly what to share with an authorised technician. Nothing is shared, and no one can control your computer, without your clear approval.

Stay alert: only share a Support ID with a technician you expect. NorthWave will never ask for your password, bank details, or a one-time security code through remote support.

A simple, visible process

How a support session works

Support is a conversation, not unattended access. You can pause or end it whenever you choose.

  1. 1

    Get a Support ID

Open NorthWave Assist on your Windows computer and select Get support ID. The nine-digit ID expires after five minutes.

  2. 2

    Review the request

Your technician sends a request with their reason for helping. Check the details before you approve. If anything seems wrong, decline it.

  3. 3

    Choose what to share

Share your primary display or one visible window. You can stop screen sharing immediately from the app.

  4. 4

    End when you are ready

Stop sharing, stop control, or select End support session. The technician can also end the session.

You remain in control

Viewing and controlling are separate choices.

A technician may view only what you choose to share. Remote control is not automatic: it requires a separate request and your explicit approval.

For remote control, share your primary display. If you share one window, it remains view-only.

Screen sharing

You select the display or window. Select Stop screen sharing whenever you want.

Remote control

You must select Allow control. Select Stop remote control immediately to block input.

End the session

Select End support session to close the support session completely.

Common questions

Support without surprises

What can the technician see?

Only the display or window you select after you approve the request. You can stop sharing at any time.

Can a technician control my computer automatically?

No. Control requires a separate request and your approval. It is available only while you share your primary display, and you can stop it immediately.

What should I do if I do not recognise the request?

Decline the request and contact NorthWave through the support channel you already use. Do not share your Support ID with unexpected callers or messages.

Can I stop the session?

Yes. You can stop screen sharing, stop remote control, or end the support session whenever you choose.

Where can I download NorthWave Assist?

Downloads are provided only through approved NorthWave support arrangements during the current pilot. This page does not offer public downloads.

Need support?

Use the NorthWave support channel you already trust.

Before sharing a Support ID, confirm that the technician and reason for support are expected.
